1962          "Bull Six"

Description: The Sixth Squadron patch is a circular emblem bordered in white. A large, boldly printed white “6” is located in the center. A ferocious bull, snorting a white cloud leaps through the circular opening at the bottom of the six. The background of the emblem is bright red.

Significance: The huge black bull which is the Sixth Squadron mascot  symbolizes strength, courage, determination, perseverance, and tenacity. The bright red background adds to the glory of the bull.

History: This is the original squadron patch.

Nickname: "Bull Six"

In 1959 the “Bull Six” won the intramural Championships. Since then they have won the Academic Achievement Award in 1965, Military Proficiency in 1965 and 1966, and was named Honor Squadron in 1965. Presently the 6th is being sponsored by the Aeronautical Systems Division, Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio.  – C3C Andrew Fallon, Class of 1976, Falconews, 29 March 1974

The Sixth Squadron patch is indicative of the spirit shown by “Bull Six.” The jet black bull, charging in fury, represents strength, power, and “bullish determination.” The bright red color of the bull’s eyes and horns symbolize the intensity which Sixth Squadron uses to achieve its goals. Sixth Squadron, with its horns lowered for combat, is truly a squadron with a “go for it” attitude. – 1975 Polaris
