Captain Michael A. Simpson, Class of 1975, died on January 21, 1981 as a result of military aircraft (F-5) accident near Maopa, Nevada. Mike is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan R. Simpson, RR3 Pioneer Acres, Beatrice, NE 68310.

Mike was a member of the 23rd Cadet Squadron while at the Academy. He majored in Computer Science. Mike went to UPT at Laughlin AFB where he was an Outstanding Graduate. He was assigned to Nellis AFB in April of 1979 as a F-5 Aggressor Pilot. He remained at Nellis until his death.

Michael’s name has been added to the Graduate Roll of Honor in front of the Cadet Chapel.
