Donald R. Forbes


Donald Robert (Bob) Forbes Bob was born in Visalia, CA on December 21, 1951 and went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 19, 2014. His death was sudden and unexpected. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Judy, daughter Annemarie Williams, (Mark), children, Andrew, Rebekah, John and Peter, daughter Christina Ward, (Mark), children, Victoria, Eli, Luc, and Raelyn, son, Matthew, sister, Gwen Kirby (Lonnie), daughter Samantha, sister Carolyn Lucas, (Ron), daughter Sarah, and several uncles, aunts and cousins. 

Bob graduated from Mt. Whitney High School in 1970 and embarked on his military career. Enlisting in the Air Force to attend the Air Force Academy Prep School and was enrolled at the Academy the following year. After 3 years he resigned from the Academy to marry the love of his life and completed his military education in the ROTC program at Purdue University, he was commissioned in December of 1976. 

While in the Air Force he continued his education receiving a Master Degree in Logistics. Bob served until his retirement in 1995 while stationed at Vandenburg Air Force Base at the rank of Major. 

Being an education type Bob attended Chapman University, obtaining his teaching credential, putting it to work expanding the minds of third graders at Mary Buren Elementary School in Guadalupe, CA., starting in 1997 until his death. 

He will be greatly missed by his students, school and community. Service is to be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Grace Bible Church, Arroyo Grande, CA 93420. In lieu of flowers, please consider the following: Grace Bible Church - Children's Ministries or The Wounded Warriors Project.
